I took my pack on its maiden trip last week on the IAT. I’m a small person and my arms brush against most “fanny packs” large enough to hold trail snacks and other essentials. This pack is the perfect size and weight and will come with me on all future hikes. (One note, and it’s my bad, don’t use dark purple on your topo - it doesn’t show up.)
So excited that I have my bag! Quality and design is truly fantastic! This will fit perfectly into my backpacking kit and pull double duty by replacing my day pack. I love just how unique this piece of gear is and that no one will have one quite the same. Josh was so great to work with, very responsive to my questions. Best of luck with this awesome bag!
Overall a good product. But the straps on the bottom are too short for attaching anything more than a light T shirt. Please lengthen.
Hi Dale, sorry your pack isn't working as hoped. The straps are really just for carrying a light layer like a packable rain jacket or puffy. I thought having a bulkier jacket strapped to the bottom might be a bit much to have bouncing around, even if the straps could hold it. I'll send you an email, though. I can mail you some longer shock cord that you could swap out on yours really easily.
I have been searching the perfect Fanny pack for a long time ! I like to use a Fanny pack with my main backpack so that I can just use it for peak bagging, side trips, fishing, etc.. When I first saw that Josh was designing this bag, I knew I’d have to try it out. This pack blew away my expectations! First off, it’s super comfortable. I hardly notice it’s there! Secondly, with the bottle holder it has replaced my 28l day pack for day hikes. Simply strap a jacket to the bottom, fill up the inside with what I need and I am good go! The Topo print is a cool option too, but I’d recommend this pack even it only came a solid color.
The quality of this Fanny pack coupled with the ability to personalize it with any topo map region is unique and awesome. Looking forward to seeing more products like this from Josh!
